Our next door neighbor Kathryn has a spunky cat named Sybi who Aly is obsessed with. She captured this photo while Aly was doing her usual face against glass routine.

Last December we had Kathy and Cliff visit the island! We barely took any pictures of our week together but Liz was able to capture a beach day as we were enjoying some sun time at Reggae Beach Bar and Grill.
Sitting on top of the world at Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park
Cliff, Kathy, and Scott taking in the veiws. You can see just how grand the fort is!
One of our favorite places to go to is Salt Plage where you can watch the beautiful sunset while watching the dinghys come in.
Visiting my favorite bar tender ;)
Maui had some amazing rainbows but St. Kitts definitely gives them a run for their money.
Corey, Meghan and I on our rainbow beach day at Shipwreck.
Various clubs at Ross have different fundraisers. Here we are at Ponds Court Gardens overlooking Port Zante at a SAFE fundraiser, a group dedicated to emergency care of animals on the island who recover and adopt out those who've been rescued.

Finally got to try lion's punch, a great suggestion from my favorite Ross alumnus Ashley. Scott had also taken me jet skiing which made for a perfect day.
Lunch at Ballahoo overlooking the Circus, a roundabout representing St. Kitts' British colonial past.
Though this little guy has learned to handle life outside the kennel while mom and dad are away, every once in awhile we have a casualty. #sorrygumby #savage
This was his punishment...JUST KIDDING. I just couldn't help but dress him up and he's so good at striking a pose ;)
As you guys know pet-sitting/house-sitting in Alaska was a fairly regular gig for me. I have to say this house's view takes the cake. Turtle Beach.
And as always the best part of the job is the fur babies. One day I'll convince Scott that cats can be great pets...
A typical night for this VIP.
Sometimes we both study ;)
Beautiful Red Ginger
I'm still blown away by the size of some of the leaves here on the island!
Revisiting the Saman Tree at Romney Manor. 350 years old!! If trees could talk...
Some of the amazing batik they do at Caribelle Batik. They create these masterpieces by resisting dye with wax!! Using one dye at a time some of the pieces can take anywhere from 3 to 9 days to make.
Now that our wedding is coming up in 54 days we've been wrapping up last planning efforts. One of which is DIY boutineers for the groomsmen made of sand dollars.
Snorkeling treasures!
The best part of wedding planning.
Usually once a semester we try and do a catamaran trip to Nevis, St. Kitts' neighboring island. Crimson, Rachel and Amanda and I enjoying the boat.
Captain Crackers!
A couple Kittitian cuties that rescued me from my awful singing during karaoke night haha
Another karaoke night with the girls for my birthday.
Over the past few semesters I've been involved in various clubs ranging from pathology to community service club. My first role as an e-board member was with the Wildlife Disease Association (WDA). Below is a pic of Jess, Alyssa and I at the leadership awards.
One of my favorite aspects of Ross is the abundance of opportunities students have to get involved in research. Whether as a research assistant or volunteer I've been participating in a different research project every semester. With each project I've been learning much more about wildlife and one health while witnessing the curious minds and passion of some of my professors. Not only am I learning outside of the classroom but I've learned more about the island I currently call home through exploring the rainforest, wildlife and interacting with locals. Below are some pictures I've taken of the monkeys on the island throughout our time here.
This semester I participated in Ross's first "Day of Service". We were able to travel to Deane Glasford Primary School and work along-side teachers and students to repaint some classrooms and paint primer on a wall in front of the school where we plan to paint a mural.
Meghan, Deanna, and I after a day of painting
Sunrise or sunset Scott and I like to bask in the beauty of St. Kitts when we get a chance.

My partner in crime's latest stunt? Throwing me a bachelorette party!!
Daniel!! Anatomy lab buddy, friendly competitor, and one heck of a friend
Finally, to end my update of the last year, as you all know the detrimental storms Irma and Maria passed by our tiny island. We were lucky enough to be spared of their powerful and devastating effects. With absolute disaster comes healing. With the crazy and delayed start of the semester its only a further reminder of how resilience is key. Here is a link to one of many efforts to help contribute towards relief for islands that weren't so lucky.

Capturing some of the wind and the rain in our backyard.
Needless to say, we are so blessed and feel thankful for good neighbors and our safety.
