Saturday was another wonderfully sunny and warm day.  Claire and I biked to moose flats to lay in the sun and then later Marcie, Jeremy, and Alexis joined and we took a swim.  I can't get enough of the nice weather.  Later we drove to Anchorage to meet up with one of Jeremy's friends, Carlie.  We went to dinner and went on a grocery run.  Yet another Costco trip...not good for the wallet.  Good thing I only got pickles and hummus this time!!  That night we went to the cabins across the street (where some of the other AWCC interns live) and had a "dance party" at Jonathan and Scott's.

Sunday and Monday were my intern days outside.  I guess it's my lucky week because I get to intern not twice but three times this week!!  So I'll get to work outside tomorrow as well.  Both intern days went soo fast.  We cut some willow and alder for the babies, Jewelie, the moose (Gilly, Jack, and Nelson) and the muskox.  The moose and muskox came runnin seeing the fresh brush.  Throwing it over the fence....not so easy haha.  Christina and I had quite the time trying to toss it over into the muskox enclosure.  It was really rainy and windy.  The nice sunny weather unfortunately came to an end for the week.  Sunday Nicole and I unloaded the flatbed full of straw.  It was heavy but good to work out the arm muscles!  Below is a picture of us on top of the stacked pile we made.  Monday I also did a tour for a group of school kids and boy were they rowdy.  I lost track of how many times I said "keep your hands to yourself" and "don't worry about cutting, we're all going to the same place".  Gotta love ages 6-8!  One little boy did recite one of the facts he learned on the tour at the end and it was so cute it made it worth it.  I guess they're learning something, even if they seem occupied with being the first in line.  Last night Kat and Erin took Nicki, Claire, and I to the rock climbing gym in Anchorage for a beginner's lesson.  It was SO fun!  I can't wait to go again.  I think Claire and I may go this weekend on our day off.  Nicole and Jeremy also made some delicious apple fritters.

Today was another rainy day.  I worked ticket booth and gift store.  Nothing too exciting happened but it was a fun shift working with Marcie and Howie.  Erin said tomorrow we may be getting an orphaned sitka black-tailed deer!  I'm crossing my fingers.  Not only will it be nice to have another baby around but Jewelie will have a friend.  She's the only sitka black-tailed deer we have at the center.
