Thursday Christina, Claire, MT, Nicki, Marcie, and I went to the Heritage Center in Anchorage for an intern field trip.  It was a really nice non-profit center that had six buildings or so full of items and info on the natives of Alaska.  They even had a team of sled dogs and puppies from a team that was in the Iditarod.  They were so stinkin cute...I wanted to steal one.  They told us the northern dogs that run the Iditarod can go as fast as 10-12 mph! We also saw a demonstration of native games.  One of the games they had to kick a ball and land on the foot your kicked the ball with.  I don't know how they do it! Below are a few pics, one of which I'm standing next to a huge totem pole.  After that we went to a mexican restaurant and saw the new spiderman movie.  It was nice to get away from the center and watch a movie.

Friday was a lazy day since we all stayed up late the night before.  The highlight of the day was Ron (Johnathan) and Scott taking Snickers around the center in a wheelbarrow.  It was hilarious and Snickers was loving it.  He kept trying to get out so we'd lure him back in with fire weed.

Today Jeremy, Howie, Marcie, and I went to Girdwood to do a hike.  We did Winner Creek at the Alyeska Ski Resort.  It was great!  It was a pretty relaxed hike and the creek was awesome.  I just wanted to jump right in the water.  There was a hand tram too and I was gonna go across it but there was a line...a lot of people were on the trail.  The weather has been just terrible but today, at least in Girdwood, it was kind of warm and it wasn't rainy.  We stopped at the library and they had a free book section...wish they had that in Ann Arbor.

Off to bed, interning at 8 am tomorrow!  11 more days till I get to visit home and enjoy some nice weather : )
